Events in April 2008

A J.S Bach enthusiast would not ignore such an event – Bach Days 29 March – 4 April.

In programme:
29 March, 7 pm – concert of the Chamber Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Krakow, conducted by Maciej Tworek.
30 March, 7 pm, Polish vocal and instrumental music of the 17th century, performed by an ensemble directed by professor Bogumiła Gizbert-Studnicka
31 March, 7 pm, Chamber concert of the students of the Department of Harpsichord and Early Instruments, with a performance by Romana Agnel (Baroque dance).
1 April, 5 pm, Chamber music concert performed by Bogumiła Gizbert-Studnicka. The programme includes: J.S. Bach.
7 pm, Chamber music concert. The programme includes: J.S. Bach.
2 April, 4 pm, Concert performed by students of harpsichord classes. The programme includes: J.S. Bach, harpsichord transcriptions of works by A. Vivaldi and A. Marcello.
7 pm, Concert by professors and students. The programme includes: A. Vivaldi and J.S. Bach.
3 April, 7 pm, Vocal-instrumental concert performed by an ensemble conducted by Andrzej Zawisza. The programme includes: D. Buxtehude, H.J. Biber and J.S. Bach.
4 April, 7 pm, Chamber music concert performed by professors of the Department of Harpsichord and Early Instruments (Małgorzata Wojciechowska, Zygmunt Kaczmarski, Marcin Zalewski, Marta Czarny-Kaczmarska and Magdalena Myczka). The programme includes: J. Ph. Rameau and J.S. Bach.

Tickets cost 10 PLN, all events will be held in the Florianka Recital Hall – ul Basztowa 8

A Japanese Martial Arts Show

A Japanese Martial Arts Show will be held on 10 April, 6pm, in Manggha Centre of Japanese Art and Technology, Konopnickiej 26

For all interested in Japanese culture – a performance by Sensei Sekiguchi Komei, master of the technique of the sword, and sensei Shimizu Nobuko – specialising in combat based on the usage of the Japanese halberd. Both well known worldwide. Definitely worth visiting.
