Pierogi - dumplings - is a simple dish with big tradition of making and eating them in Poland. When you put together couple of rather simple things, such as flour, an egg, and white cheese, make a dough, fill it and boil you just have made pierogi. When you put couple of them on a plate you have a tasty dish of staple food. When you gather plenty of people from all around the world that make pierogi you have Pierogi Festival - the Festival of Dumplings. The number 6th in 2008, is held on 15th and 16th of August . It aim is to promote the richness of Old Polish cuisine among Polish and foreign tourists. The Festival is accompanied by tasting sessions, fairs, artistic events and competitions. You can also vote for the best or lousy dumplings.
