FAMU is one of the oldest film schools in Europe. Its graduates include many outstanding artists, such as: Milos Forman, Jiri Menzel, Vera Chytilova, Jan Sverak, and Agnieszka Holland. We will present a selection of the best student short studies produced over the last 15 years.

Another outstanding film, following “Saragossa…”by Woiciech Has based on the Bruno Schulz’s story “The Hourglass Sanatorium” as well as plots from other stories by the writer. Karel Zeman- an eminent representative of the Czech school of animation produced 50 years an adaptation of the Jules Verne story. In a fascinating way the film, which was awarded the Grand Prize at the EXPO 58 in Brussels, combines animation with actors’ performances.

Special Golden Dinosaur Award for Kazimierz Urbańskto on the occasion of the 15th Anniversary of the E&A Festival – founder of the Film Drawing Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and Krakow’s department of Studio Miniatur Filmowych in Warsaw
Kazimierz Urbański is not only one of the main representatives of the Polish school of animation from the 1960s. He is also a teacher at Krakow’s Fine Arts Academy and co-founder of the film studio, known since the 1970s as the Studio of Animated Films. On the occasion of E&A Festival’s 15th Anniversary and 60 years of Polish animation we will present professor Kazimierz Urbański a Special Award
