Nowa Prowincja – feel the atmosphere of Krakow
If you are looking for something more than just a cup of coffee and want to feel the atmosphere of Krakow you should visit Nowa Prowincja, a famous cafe at Bracka Street 3-5.
What is so special about Nowa Prowincja? Certainly, it has a very special atmosphere, a little ’something’ that calls you back and allows to feel like in a nice, familiar place. Slightly dimmed, with tables and chairs touched by time and a secret, cosy entresol allowing to hide from the more open space in the main room. Some pieces of junk that make up the décor resemble the old attic, which has this specific, familiar feel. It allows you to relax and feel at ease – the best way for preparing to fully enjoy the taste of coffee or hot chocolate (supposedly the best in Krakow), and these are just fabulous. Also, you can savor your beverage (and delicious cake) outside and watch the city life of Bracka Street.
What is more, there is always a chance to meet somebody famous here as it is a place popular among many artists. After all, the owner of Nowa Prowincja is Grzegorz Turnau – well known polish composer, pianist, poet and singer – formerly associated with Piwnica pod Baranami and Piotr Skrzynecki. The cafe also organizes meetings with some writers and artists. To find out more about these, ask for the schedule at the bar.
Address: Bracka 3-5 (according to one of Turnau’s song ‘a street where it always rains…’)
