Sukiennice (pl), or Cloth Hall - is one of the most recognizable icon of Krakow. You will find it’s silhouette on every poster, and the site itself amongst must-go places if you tour with any guide. A merchant’s shelter originally - back when Krakow used to be an important point of trade for salt from Wieliczka and silk from far east, now it’s a center for tourism. You will find plenty of objects with ‘Krakow’ on them. Considered kitsch by most Krakovians still impresses tourists. Great shopping place for souvenirs, like t-shirts, mugs, beer and shot glasses, wooden chess sets, or one of the thousands of pieces of amber jewellery on display. The good news is, it’s right smack in the middle of Krakow’s Market Square, so you couldn’t miss it if you tried!

Apart from the shops - there are several cafes around the Cloth Hall and the whole building has a wonderful atmosphere. Be sure to spend a few moments admiring the impressive architecture and the design of the roof. If you’re an art lover there is a branch of The National Museum - the one with a gallery of polish painters.
